Decal Application Tips

While our decals are easy to apply, here are a few tips to ensure success.

  • Prep the application site by removing any dirt or oils with 91% rubbing alcohol before placing the decals

  • If the application site has been powder coated, you might try putting your decals on when the paint is somewhat hot (not over 190 degrees) coming out of the oven

  • Pro tip for applying over a powder coated surface: one of our customers has developed a method of application where they use a hand held torch to burn the wax off of their powder coated trailers after they cool and then apply their decals while the surface is still warm for maximum stick-ability.

  • When applying on a painted surface, try using a heat gun on the applied decals (don't burn them, but get them hot enough to stick well) and this will help them stick better and keep the water from getting in behind them.
